We believe in progress and want to pass on a cleaner world to future generations. It is our aim to construct healthy and flexible buildings, where people can move around optimally and which encourage people to meet. We believe in a future based on circular and bio-based construction. Energy
We aim to build energy-neutral buildings. In case of newbuild, buildings should be able to produce energy. We use sustainable energy sources. We aim for simplicity in technology. There should be optimal collaboration between urban planning setting, building engineering and systems technology. This should lead to exceptional buildings where an optimally healthy performance is the highest priority. Beauty and flexibility are important. This means that on the one hand people will love the buildings and look after them, but on the other hand, they can also be changed.

Circular construction
We view circular construction as an indispensable link in a sustainable society. It starts with reusing existing material. Renovation and repurposing are therefore excellent choices. Where new materials are needed, the most sustainable option should be selected. Reused and/or bio-based materials are the first choice where possible, and detailing is such that the element can be taken apart again at a future time for (re)use. The choice of materials and products is determined by expert understanding of the complex puzzle of energy-use at production, replaceability of the raw material and the material’s maintenance needs. Office Huidekoper Amsterdam

‘The National Museum of Education in Dordrecht was the first municipal listed building and the first museum in the Netherlands to achieve the A energy label. After their renovation, the Huidekoper offices in Amsterdam are extremely sustainable and all-electric and so meet the municipal sustainability goals for 2050.’

Digital Building Passport
The Digital Building Passport which is part of the design and management process contains an overview of all materials. These materials can be harvested for future reuse.

Measuring Tools
We use design tools that are able to measure sustainability in all its aspects, such as BREEAM, WELL, GPR Gebouw.

Consultation
We use our expertise and experience for design and research activities, but we also act as independent consultants in the field of rendering existing buildings more sustainable.
